There are several different companies that manufacture bmw turbo kits- Garret, Holset, KKK, ZK, Borg Wagner, Mitzubishi, IHI and etc. Each of them manufactures different types of bmw turbo kits and you will surely be able to find the one best suiting your car’s engine amongst them.
So, the first step is to find out what you need. For instance, if your car engine’s normal operating temperature is 100°F it would require a much smaller airflow than an engine operating at -20°F. Also, people who live in high altitude regions will need different bmw turbo kits then guys in lower altitude ones. Another factor when choosing a turbo kit is the acceleration and the cooling system you need.
After all these questions are answered, you have to calculate the airflow that your engine requires. You are going to need the so called compressor map. There is further information about how to read these maps in the post about them
After you’ve comprised a list with fitting turbo kits, you have to carefully pick one that gives you the best quality on a reasonable price.Newer turbo kit models will certainly perform better and will last longer. However, older ones also perform nice and come at a much lower price.
